The Women Of Jerusalem Weep Over Jesus We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world
When these pious women, moved out of love for their Lord, met Jesus on his path to Calvary, they wept. Jesus, however, told them not to weep for him, but rather for themselves and their children. In other words, Jesus prompts us to express contrition for our sins, for the times we have hurt our relationship with Him. “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner” I love you, Jesus, my love above all things, And I repent with my whole heart of having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again,
Grant that I may love you always, and then do with me what you will. |
